General Practitioner Specialist Job

Salary: £62,000 - £82,000 per year.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced General Practitioner Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for investigating causes of death and providing expert advice to clinicians.

Your primary duties will include:

  • Scrutinizing medical records to determine cause of death
  • Providing expert advice to clinicians on death certification processes
  • Liaising with partner organizations to ensure smooth processes

You will work closely with our team of medical professionals to provide high-quality patient care and improve health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering 4 hours of ME work per week
  • Providing proportionate scrutiny of available medical records
  • Discussing proposed causes of death with relevant clinicians
Person Specification:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • M.B.B.S. or equivalent qualification
  • Registration with the General Medical Council
  • Excellent communication and empathy skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
