About the Role

The CT Support Radiographic Department Assistant plays a vital role in the CT Department, undertaking various responsibilities. Key duties include:

Main Responsibilities

  • Assisting patients prepare for their scans, ensuring they are comfortable and informed throughout the process.
  • Performing basic nursing duties, including dealing with bodily fluids and assisting patients with personal care.
  • Inputting and accessing data into departmental computer systems, such as the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Electronic Portering System (TMS).
  • Ensuring scan rooms are clean and prepared for the next examination, maintaining stock levels and adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Liaising with other wards, departments, and staff members to arrange patient examinations and coordinate care.
  • Assisting patients on and off scan beds, adhering to manual handling training and ensuring patient safety.

Working with the Team

The successful candidate will work closely with Radiographers and other Emergency Department staff, providing excellent patient care and contributing to a positive working environment.

Requirements

  • Literate and numerate, with basic computer skills.
  • Experience in a caring role, with evidence of teamwork, multitasking, and effective communication.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
