Alliance Psychological Services Limited is a leading provider of psychological therapy services to local communities. We are seeking a highly skilled Specialist Therapist to join our Children, Young People and Families Team.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will provide consultation, clinical assessment and psychotherapeutic counselling to children, young people and their families who have experienced complex trauma. They will work with parents, carers and professionals to develop their understanding of developmental and attachment-based trauma, improving outcomes and support for affected children.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake highly skilled assessments of clinical need, including risk assessments, considering children's developmental, attachment, trauma and cultural needs.
- Working to a clear clinical plan, provide outcomes-focused trauma and attachment therapy with children and families who have experienced trauma.
- Explore and evaluate clinical treatment using evaluation tools, contributing to evidence-based practice.
- Take part in triage work for the service, helping to ensure appropriate referrals into, and out of, the service.
- Create and maintain effective working relationships with Headteachers, Deputy Heads, SENCOs, Pastoral Team, and wider teaching staff.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as a child and adolescent counsellor/psychotherapist working with children, young people, and families affected by trauma/bereavement. They will have demonstrable experience of providing outcomes-focused therapy to children, young people and their families, and experience of sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues and other professionals.
