Job Summary
Alliance Psychological Services Limited is seeking a highly skilled Specialist Therapist to join our Children, Young People and Families Team. As a Specialist Therapist, you will work with children, young people, and families who have experienced complex trauma, providing consultation, clinical assessment, and psychotherapeutic counseling.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Undertake highly skilled assessments of clinical need, including risk assessments, considering children's developmental, attachment, trauma, and cultural needs.
Work to a clear clinical plan, providing outcomes-focused trauma and attachment therapy with children and families who have experienced trauma.
Explore and evaluate clinical treatment using evaluation tools, contributing to evidence-based practice.
Take part in triage work for the service, helping to ensure appropriate referrals into, and out of, the service.
Create and maintain effective working relationships with Headteachers, Deputy Heads, SENCOs, Pastoral Team, and wider teaching staff.
Work with the Counselling Lead and Service Manager to promote and develop our service links with affected families and partner agencies.
Ensure that the needs and views of children and young people are at the heart of everything we do.
Operate within the Service Referral to Discharge Protocols.
Liaise effectively with other local providers, including statutory and voluntary organisations.
Safeguarding
- Responsible for safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people at all times.
- Taking appropriate safeguarding action to protect children and young people at risk of significant harm.
- Sharing information with parents/carers or other agencies regarding the family's wellbeing and progress.
A Professional and Ethical Service
Maintain appropriate clinical notes and records on IAPTUS and in line with Alliance policies and procedures.
Undertake relevant Continuing Professional Development as required for the purposes of continued professional accreditation or registration.
Work within Data Protection Act 1998 and Alliance Information Governance policies and procedures.
Ensure a safe and secure working environment for self and others.
Adhere to all Alliance Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines.
Promote and value the rights, responsibilities, and diversity of people using the Service.
