About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lawyer to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a crucial role in reviewing, negotiating, drafting, and advising on commercial contracts for our businesses, including supply chain, concessions, events, marketing, e-commerce, franchising, licensing, IT & technology, outsourcing, and finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage commercial disputes and litigation
  • Provide guidance on marketing and promotional activities, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Support e-commerce teams on legal aspects of digital marketing and website operations
  • Negotiate wholesale contracts and concession agreements with suppliers
  • Handle general IP work, including licensing own brands and third-party licensing
  • Collaborate with customer service teams on customer complaints and dispute resolution
  • Assist on larger M&A projects, conducting due diligence investigations and drafting relevant documents
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the ICO, ASA, and Trading Standards, on regulatory issues and customer complaints
  • Instruct external lawyers for specialist or high-volume work
  • Supervise junior members of the team

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in commercial contract negotiation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working in a similar role, preferably within the retail industry
