Job Title: 1:1/Small Group Tutoring

Location: Okehampton

The Supply Register Ltd is seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Tutor to provide personalized academic support to secondary school students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tailored learning sessions to students who require additional help to achieve their full potential.
  • Identify students' learning needs and create individualized lesson plans to target specific areas for improvement.
  • Track and assess students' progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and school staff.
  • Support students in preparation for exams, including subject revision, study techniques, and exam strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to align tutoring sessions with the wider school curriculum.
  • Foster a positive, encouraging, and supportive learning environment that motivates students to achieve their academic goals.
  • Manage tutoring schedules, ensuring effective use of time for both in-person and virtual sessions, where applicable.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching students with SEN, preferably in a school or educational setting.
  • Specialized training or qualifications in SEN education, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in SEN or equivalent, are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of different learning needs and the ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual students' requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers, and external stakeholders.
  • Patient, empathetic, resilient, and passionate about supporting the holistic development of students with SEN.
