Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Head Coach

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Head Coach to join our team at Swim England. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Junior Competitive Squad and the Development 1 Squad, developing training plans, and delivering coaching programs that maximize swimmers' performance and potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Squad Coaching: Plan and deliver coaching programs for the Junior Competitive Squad and the Development 1 Squad, ensuring each swimmer reaches their full swimming potential.
  • Develop Training Plans: Create and implement training plans for squad members, taking into account their individual needs and goals.
  • Pool Squad Training: Run pool squad training sessions, providing guidance and support to swimmers.
  • Swimmer Development: Support swimmers' personal development, helping them to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
  • Gala Support: Attend galas in support of JC and D1 squad members, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and guardians, keeping them informed of progress and goals.
  • Administration: Undertake all associated administration required for the role, including team gala entries and squad management.
  • Team Leadership: Work with the Head Coach to deliver the vision and long-term plan for the Club, reviewing and seeking opportunities to improve squad structure and training delivery.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Hold a Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate or ASA Level 2 Coaching qualification.
  • Administrative Skills: Good administrative skills and computer literacy.
  • DBS Certificate: Hold an enhanced Swim England DBS certificate or be prepared to undergo a check.
  • Permit to Work: Be self-employed and hold a permit to work in the UK.
