About the Role

Future Academies Watford is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Head of Year to join our experienced pastoral team. The primary focus is on assisting the Head of Year in removing barriers to learning and promoting an aspirational and supportive academy culture that leads to the success of every student.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of Year in developing and implementing strategies to improve student outcomes and well-being.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to identify and address student needs, providing targeted support and interventions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pastoral policies and procedures, ensuring a consistent and supportive approach.
  • Provide guidance and support to students, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive academy culture, fostering a sense of community and belonging among students and staff.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students and staff.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
