Principal Property and Projects Lawyer

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council

Hybrid working arrangement

£52,889 - £56,633 per annum (pay award pending)

Key responsibilities of the Principal Property and Projects Lawyer role:

  1. Directly line managing 1 Senior Property Lawyer and 1 Development Lawyer, who are responsible for the management of 6 Lawyers and 2 Legal Assistants.
  2. Assisting the team with complex commercial and residential property matters, including leading on major project work such as Glassworks and Alhambra shopping centres.
  3. Be a part of the Senior Management Team for the Legal Services.
  4. Leading on improvement of the team with policies and procedures, looking at standard processes and reporting against performance indicators.
Experience required for the Principal Projects and Property Lawyer role:

  1. Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive.
  2. Experience of leading on major projects.
