About the Role

This is a senior software engineer position that will involve the design and development of new features and functions for a range of products and systems using Matlab / Simulink. The role will also involve systems engineering activities such as concept development, prototype integration, and vehicle level integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop product requirements and software specifications from customer requirements
  • Design and develop new features and functions for products and systems using Matlab / Simulink
  • Work with senior and principal engineers on the design of embedded software and model-based control software for new and future technology developments and product enhancements
  • Develop software for safety-critical systems such as automotive engine control (ECUs), powertrain, brakes, steering, gearboxes, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product development and delivery
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of post-academic experience developing software ideally for electromechanical / mechatronic or automotive systems
  • Strong evidence of model-based software development using Matlab / Simulink (academic, industrial, or own projects)
  • Experience of developing software for safety-critical systems (e.g. automotive engine control (ECUs), powertrain, brakes, steering, gearboxes, etc.)
  • Good practical engineering aptitude (e.g. getting software to work on hardware platforms, within larger electromechanical systems, etc.)
  • Evidence of innovation and creative problem-solving for relevant engineering projects
  • Experience gained with embedded C programming or autocode tools (e.g. Embedded Coder)
About the Company

The company designs and manufactures a range of vehicles and machinery for the construction industry. These machines include electric vehicle technologies as well as conventional powertrains, hybrid, and hydrogen engines. In addition, some of the products include autonomous systems, collision avoidance / ADAS systems, hydraulic control, etc.
