About the Role


We are seeking an experienced project manager to lead our Genomics team in delivering high-quality genomic data for our researchers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology and genomics, with excellent communication and organisational skills.


Key Responsibilities



  • Lead the Genomics team in delivering NGS projects from initial planning to completed data package.
  • Collaborate with the Bioinformatics team to ensure sequencing projects are properly planned and supported with respect to data analysis and reporting.
  • Develop tools and workflows to improve efficiency of project management and data delivery.
  • Present performance statistics to the STP's User Committee.
  • Support Crick researchers with grant applications, project reports and publications.

Requirements



  • PhD in relevant scientific discipline or equivalent experience in a research laboratory or core facility.
  • Substantial post-graduate experience in genomics and/or bioinformatics.
  • Excellent knowledge of NGS technologies and applications.
  • Practical experience in the management of scientific projects.
  • Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to deliver successful scientific projects.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with a range of people at all levels.
  • A qualification in project management, lab management or safety relevant to a research environment.
  • Experience in working with a LIMS, including familiarity of developing and maintaining key project documentation.
  • Experience in NGS data analysis (data QC).
  • Ability to develop informatic tools (databases, dashboards, webforms) for project management.
  • Experience with data processing and delivery workflows.
  • Computing skills (R, UNIX, API scripting).

Salary and Benefits


We offer a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits including pension scheme, annual leave and training opportunities.


Location


The role will be based at our flagship campus in central London.
