Job Title: Planning and Development Control Engineer/Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Planning and Development Control Engineer/Technician to join our team at BEAR Scotland. As a key member of our Planning and Development Control Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of third-party works on our trunk road network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Third-Party Development Manager in liaising with developers and Transport Scotland in relation to planning applications.
  • Prepare and administer Minutes or Letters of Agreement and Road Bonds.
  • Carry out Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) design checks on third-party works.
  • Conduct New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 (NRSWA) checks for statutory and non-statutory undertakers.
  • Support the Journey Time Reliability Coordinator with queries related to third-party works.
Requirements:
  • Qualified to HND or equivalent with experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Good understanding of Roads (Scotland) Act 1984 and New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
  • Working knowledge of current DMRB and other design standards.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
