Your primary responsibility will be to maintain, inspect, and repair the land alongside the track network, including vegetation management, drainage, and ancillary structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Specialize in a range of disciplines, including off-track maintenance and repair
  • Work outdoors in all conditions, at all times of the year, day or night
  • Transport equipment and materials across challenging terrain

  • Develop and maintain technical and non-technical skills through continuous learning and training

Requirements

  • Leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to deliver clear instructions
  • Technical skills, including inspection, faulting, maintenance, and renewal techniques
  • Safety-focused, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to find safe and effective solutions
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills relevant to the discipline
  • Relevant qualification, such as an NVQ Level 1 or 2, or equivalent experience

Working Conditions

  • Shift patterns, including days, nights, and weekends
  • Outdoor working, in all weather conditions
  • Safe working practices, including drug and alcohol testing and medical assessments
  • Driving license (category B) required for Network Rail vehicles
  • 60-minute commute time from the location
