Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Administrator to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality imaging services to patients, working closely with clinicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a clinical expert in paediatric imaging, providing high-quality imaging using a variety of radiography equipment.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of paediatric pathology and clinical presentation to ensure the correct imaging examination is performed.
  • Liaise with Paediatric Consultant Radiologists and Advanced Practitioners where clinical input is needed.
  • Work cohesively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure a safe working environment and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
  • Effectively use hospital software to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Participate in the 24/7 rota, working core hours Monday to Friday at the Royal Alex, and additional shifts may be allocated at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
Requirements
  • Effective communication with children and young people with varying needs and at different stages of development.
  • Promote a patient-focused service in a caring manner, communicating information to all patients, parents, or carers and non-radiology colleagues to minimise stress and radiation dose.
  • Be able to communicate complex or sensitive information in an empathetic and understanding manner.
  • Communicate effectively with clinicians and referrers, answering queries or providing advice, escalating where appropriate.
