Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Academic Physician to join our team at Lincoln Memorial University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, clinical duties, and scientific scholarship in the field of Family Medicine/Internal Medicine/OMM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching: Develop and deliver curriculum for medical students in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine/OMM, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.
- Clinical Duties: Provide high-quality patient care in the clinical setting, supervising students and contributing to the development of clinical skills.
- Scientific Scholarship: Engage in research and scholarly activities, publishing papers and presenting at conferences to advance the field of Family Medicine/Internal Medicine/OMM.
Requirements:
- Education: Doctoral degree in Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited institution.
- Licensure: Unrestricted Tennessee license and approved medical professional liability insurance.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in clinical/academic medicine teaching and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Board Certification: Board Certification in Primary Care Specialty.
- Academic Rank: Academic rank will be commensurate with training and experience.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development: Establish curriculum, subject matter, and methods of instruction related to the medical education process.
- Program Evaluation: Contribute to the planning, development, and evaluation of courses and academic programs within the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM).
- Professional Development: Maintain intellectual integrity and strive for academic excellence in teaching, promoting clinical service, and demonstrating adequate standards of professional linguistic expression in writing and speech.
- Clinical Service: Provide clinical service/patient care and bedside teaching for students in the clinical setting, supervising students during authorized patient care events.
