About the Role

Job Summary:

As a Director of Cloud Software Development, you will be responsible for leading the development and engineering of aPriori's cloud platform. This role requires a strong technical expertise and visionary capabilities to ensure the platform is a key differentiator for aPriori. You will drive the vision and strategy for how the platform is designed and delivered, and ensure it is a safe and secure system to store our customers' data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage 2-3 high-performing Agile teams, responsible for hiring, managing, and deploying resources across multiple Agile teams.
  • Work effectively with various stakeholders to develop a strategy for the long-term vision of aPriori's cloud solutions.
  • Manage teams' budget, advocate for the removal of technical debt, assist and support team effectiveness.
  • Champion and effectively utilize Agile methodology and practices by partnering with aligned Architects and Product Owners to strive for elite engineering teams.
  • Monitor team effectiveness, quality of work, and quickly address issues/performance affecting team productivity.
  • Coach and evaluate the performance and quality of work delivered by team members, create a motivating and respectful work environment for teams, and ensure that your team is constantly learning and delivering quality code while driving cross-functional alignment with other parts of aPriori.
  • Provide relevant technical coaching and support to team members. Hires talent and actively engages in recruiting processes.
  • Participate in the development of business and/or technology vision, strategies, critical success factors, and operating plans for application, unit, or platform.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of programming languages such as Java, React, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated record of accomplishment of delivering software using Agile software processes.
  • Ability to drive career development, creating an environment in which engineers can grow appropriately in a challenging technical area.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 15 years' experience building enterprise software systems, and 10 years building cloud-based software.
  • Experience with cloud native technologies on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience building microservices-based software, including Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub, etc.
