Senior Project Manager - Prison Construction and Renovation

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at Gov Facility Services Ltd. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of Project Managers and other Project Workers in the delivery of construction and renovation projects for prisons and highways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and within budget
  • Lead a team of Project Managers and other Project Workers, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Develop and implement project plans, including resource allocation and risk management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Health and Safety, building regulations, and planning standards

Requirements:

  • 3 years managerial and technical experience in project delivery for construction and renovation works
  • Experience in minor works projects covering a diverse range of services, including mechanical, electrical, groundworks, and civil
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, including Health and Safety, building regulations, and planning standards
  • Considerable knowledge of the built environment
  • Proven experience directly managing teams of Project Managers and other Project Workers
  • Management of project budgets from £50,000 to around £500,000
  • Experienced in managing multiple projects, at different stages of development, across a range of disciplines and establishments
  • Expert knowledge of a project-based business area, running high-volume, low-value work programmes up to £10m per annum
  • Project Management qualifications (e.g. APM)
  • Public sector, defence, or similar experience preferred
  • Driving license
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills
