About the Role

The Volunteer Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Volunteer Manager in the daily operations of volunteer management and coordination. This position is vital in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our volunteer programs, contributing to our mission of serving humanity.

This role is open to both full-time and part-time applicants who are passionate about making a difference.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of volunteer application packs, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Support the recruitment of volunteers across the organization, building relationships with external institutions to expand the volunteer pool.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of volunteer information, complying with the Data Protection Act and GDPR.
  • Lead on organizing and managing volunteer involvement in events and activities, ensuring effective briefing and debriefing.
  • Monitor and ensure the health and safety of volunteers during campaigns and activities.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience handling sensitive information, knowledge of confidentiality best practices, GDPR compliance, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Experience working in a diverse team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate volunteers or staff, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance.
  • Good time management, reliability, and organizational skills, proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, enhancing collaboration and program success.
