Diabetes Specialist Nurse Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Diabetes Specialist Nurse to join our team at NHS Highland. As a key member of our diabetic specialist nursing team, you will play a vital role in developing and delivering specialist education, care, advice, and information to people with diabetes in the Highland region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver specialist education and care to people with diabetes, including those using insulin pump therapy and young adults.
  • Support the diabetes care for women during pregnancy and contribute to the inpatient specialist nurse service.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues across Highland to provide high-quality diabetes care.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
Requirements:
  • First-level registered nurse with professional knowledge and clinical expertise in nursing, attained through a relevant degree or proven in-depth knowledge and skills in this specialty area.
  • Post-registration diabetes-related courses or a willingness to undertake these.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
