About the Role

Zodiac Maritime is a leading international ship operating company providing a comprehensive range of management services for a diverse fleet of commercial vessels. Our company is committed to delivering exceptional results and driving growth through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chartering Manager to join our team in London. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for the employment of our fleet of approximately 55 containers, working closely with the Head of Chartering (Dry Cargo) to achieve profitable and efficient employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Strategy
    • Develop and execute commercial strategies to optimize fleet employment and maximize revenue.
    • Conduct market analysis and identify opportunities to create commercial advantage.
    • Negotiate and conclude spot market fixtures, period time charters, and contracts of affreightment.
  • Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with key charterers and joint venture parties.
    • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to ensure seamless coordination with all relevant departments.
  • Market Intelligence
    • Stay up-to-date with market trends and analysis, providing insights to the Executive Management team to inform commercial strategy.
    • Monitor and report on fixture results, including comparisons of voyage estimates against final results.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures, including Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
    • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with chartering activities.
Requirements
  • Experience and Education
    • Proven background and experience in shipping (Chartering and Operations).
    • In-depth knowledge of Container market segments.
    • Demonstrated understanding of vessel design, cargo, voyage requirements, stowage plans, vessel KPI's, key ports, and routes.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to support decisions with sound reasoning and judgment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Commercial aptitude and ability, with a strong understanding of market dynamics and economic principles.
