About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Operative to join our team at Response. As a key member of our Housing and Maintenance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake multi-trade repairs and maintenance on behalf of Response at occupied and unoccupied homes.
  • Carry out effective repairs, maintenance, and replacements, including day-to-day repairs, planned improvements, property refurbishments, and cyclical compliance work.
  • Use a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to plan and manage daily tasks, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Report all defects and damages requiring specialist repair.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Attend mandatory training and stay up-to-date with relevant laws and legislation.
  • Comply with Health and Safety measures to ensure the safety of residents, visitors, colleagues, and yourself.
Requirements
  • Experience in building repairs and maintenance.
  • Demonstrable experience in carrying out multi-trade work.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations and the Health & Safety At Work Act (HSAWA).
  • Understanding of Control of Substances hazardous to Health (COSHH).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, residents, and members of the public.
  • Ability to show initiative and work towards ensuring the smooth running of the service.
  • Full clean UK manual Driver's Licence.
