We are seeking a highly skilled Planning Manager to join our Regions construction business in Manchester, working across the North West. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and recommending Works Package Contractor extension of time claims, in conjunction with our Project Management and Commercial Management teams.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Systematically review submitted claims and programs, providing expert advice on their validity and compliance with recognized methods of extension of time claim submission.
  2. Develop project planning, programming, and delivery strategies for bids and projects, in collaboration with the Project Team.
  3. Contribute to the development of preconstruction and construction methodologies to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  4. Prepare project plans, programs, and Planning Reports in accordance with our planning procedures.
  5. Provide experienced-based solutions for delivering projects and present them to the Project Team for consideration.
  6. Report project progress regularly against contract and delivery programs, or other nominated programs.
  7. Support the Project Team in creating and updating medium and short-range programs.
  8. Project Controls - Produce data to support regular status updates and the weekly project dashboard, providing updates on progress and key issues.
  9. Prepare and support reports and documents to inform the Project Senior Leadership Team and the Business Unit on matters related to program.
  10. Assist in chairing the weekly planning meeting to coordinate project programs, progress updates, delay records, and key forthcoming milestones.
  11. Review change proposals and advise on time impact.
  12. Assess and record time impacts of delays – Event Analysis.
  13. Record as-built production rates and delays to provide benchmarking for future projects.
  14. In conjunction with the BIM Coordinator, coordinate the 4D BIM model.
  15. Facilitate project team understanding and ownership of the plan and program.
  16. Support the development of Project Team Members in the use of planning techniques and tools.
  17. Support and input into initiatives to further enhance our Planning Procedures and Processes.
Requirements
  1. Comprehensive understanding of construction claims, methodology, building technology, pre-construction processes, and procurement methods.
  2. Strong understanding of primary forms of construction contracts and key commercial terms.
  3. Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt approach dependent on the situation and audience.
  4. Produce reports and diagrams to a high standard to convey proposed sequences and methodologies.
  5. Working knowledge of P6 (Desirable).
  6. Strong knowledge of CPA planning techniques and project controls.
  7. Strong use of Excel (use of formulae, pivot tables, etc).
  8. Previous experience in delivering projects.
