The Role

We are seeking a Planning Manager to join our Regions construction business based in Manchester, working across the North West. Our projects encompass both the private and public sectors, ranging in value from £25m to £300m+. This role will be situated at Our Town Hall in Manchester, focusing on reviewing, integrating, analyzing, and recommending Works Package Contractor extension of time claims in collaboration with the Lendlease Project Management and Commercial Management teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Systematically review and analyze submitted claims and programs, providing expert advice on their validity and compliance with recognized methods of extension of time claim submission.
  • Collaborate with the Project Team to develop project planning, programs, and delivery strategies for bids and projects.
  • Work with the project team to create preconstruction and construction methodologies for efficient project delivery.
  • Prepare the project plan, program, and Planning Report following our planning procedures.
  • Offer experienced-based solutions for project delivery to the Project Team.
  • Regularly report project progress against contract and delivery programs.
  • Support the project team in creating and updating medium and short-range programs.
  • Produce data for status updates and the project dashboard.
  • Assist in coordinating project programs and milestones.
  • Review change proposals and assess time impacts.
  • Analyze and document time impacts of delays.
  • Coordinate the 4D BIM model with the BIM Coordinator.
  • Facilitate project team understanding and ownership of the plan and program.
  • Support Project Team Members in planning techniques and tools.
  • Contribute to enhancing our Planning Procedures and Processes.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of construction claims, methodology, building technology, pre-construction processes, and procurement methods.
  • Solid knowledge of construction contracts and commercial terms.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to different situations and audiences.
  • Proficiency in producing high-quality reports and diagrams.
  • Experience with P6 (Desirable).
  • Familiarity with CPA planning techniques and project controls.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Prior experience in project delivery.
