We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Laing O'Rourke, a leading construction company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our projects by managing costs, negotiating with clients and suppliers, and providing expert advice on construction costs.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and control project costs, including measurement, valuation, and agreement of work sections.
- Prepare and submit interim applications for payment to clients.
- Administer and settle subcontractors' accounts, ensuring timely payment and resolving any disputes.
- Negotiate and resolve variations with clients and suppliers, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Assist in the preparation of tender estimates, ensuring that our bids are competitive and accurate.
- Monitor and control project budgets, reporting any issues or risks to the Commercial Manager.
- Prepare and submit monthly management accounts, providing financial insights to support business decisions.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a Quantity Surveying role, preferably with a main contractor or plant hire company.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and resolve complex construction cost issues.
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
- Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS)
