As a Nursing Team Lead in Oncology and Haematology, you will play a crucial role in our team, supporting the delivery of exceptional care to patients with complex needs.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our 27-bedded oncology and haematology unit, where you will be responsible for providing professional nursing leadership and expertise to our multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement effective care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

The ideal candidate will have significant post-registration experience in cancer nursing, with a strong background in intravenous therapy and SACT administration. Experience in managing budgets, audits, and appraisal processes would be advantageous. As a skilled communicator and leader, you will demonstrate excellent clinical decision-making skills and be able to support learners in practice.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing leadership to the team, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
  • Support learners in practice, mentoring and coaching them to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with Trust values and objectives.
  • Participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to the development of solutions.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse on the appropriate part of the register.
  • Significant post-registration experience in cancer nursing, with a strong background in intravenous therapy and SACT administration.
  • Experience in managing budgets, audits, and appraisal processes.
  • Excellent clinical decision-making skills and ability to support learners in practice.
