Job Title: Transmission Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Transmission Systems Engineer to join our team at Leonardo Helicopters. As a key member of our Helicopter Division, you will be responsible for supporting both the UK and Italian geographies, working on our full product range and collaborating with international sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and development of transmission systems for helicopters, including gears, bearings, casings, couplings, and shafts.
  • Analysis and testing of transmission systems to ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate transmission systems into helicopter designs.
  • Development of technical documentation and reports to support transmission system design and analysis.
  • Support to Repair and Overhaul, Sustain Engineering, and Manufacturing teams.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design and transmission systems.
  • Experience with CAD software, including CATIA V5 and FT&A package.
  • Sound knowledge of stress and fatigue analysis.
  • Ability to prepare and generate reports relevant to transmission system design and analysis.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to problem solve and work well in a team.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience working in a regulated environment with knowledge of airworthiness regulations.
  • Knowledge of helicopter mechanical/transmission systems.
  • Expert knowledge of Finite Element Analysis software packages.
