Project Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Jackie Kerr Recruitment Ltd. As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting our client's continuous improvement activities and be responsible for all aspects of front-end engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various departments to support NPI, Projects, Manufacturing processes, quotations, and procurement
  • Liaise with customers to understand customer requirements, specifications, and drawings
  • Develop design packs, general assembly drawings, wiring diagrams/schematics, Bill of Materials (BoM), Work Instructions, Test methods, and both electrical and mechanical manufacturing drawings
  • Manage all changes, including production, using the change control process
  • Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen events and applying LEAN methodologies
  • Review build practices and implement test jigs, fixtures, and process improvements to drive quality improvements
  • Provide daily, weekly, and monthly data and analytics to the business
  • Be proactive in health & safety matters, documenting and reporting unsafe practices
  • Support quotation, procurement with part and alternative reviews
  • Use 8D or other recognized problem-solving methodology, carrying out root cause analysis

Requirements:

  • Strong engineering background with relevant qualifications
  • Understanding of configuration control and product structure
  • Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Solidworks, Fusion, Vault, & Inventor (or similar design software)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and convey technical engineering issues in simpler terms
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacture principles and the ability to apply these to new and current designs
