About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Social Worker to join our Assessment Team in Devon County Council. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with your Team Manager to provide professional leadership and supervision to colleagues, supporting the development of good evidence-based practice.

The successful candidate will have substantial post-qualifying experience with children and families, with expertise in working with families with complex needs within a multi-agency environment. You will have a strong understanding of the BASW PCF framework and be able to demonstrate the ability to work with families, lead improvement, and challenge the quality of social care practice in a constructive manner.

In this role, you will be responsible for undertaking in-depth assessments, developing Child Protection, Child In Need, and Early Help plans for children, and working with colleagues to continually improve practice standards within the team. You will also be expected to deliver on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to students, unqualified staff, and less experienced colleagues to develop their skills.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Advanced Social Worker who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families. You will need to be a strong communicator, with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the social care sector, with experience of working in a similar role, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
