About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Relief Cook to join our team at the William Quarrier Scottish Epilepsy Centre. As a key member of our catering team, you will be responsible for providing nutritious meals for patients and staff on shift, adhering to individual dietary needs and NHS Food and Nutrition Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals from scratch, using fresh ingredients to cater to patient and staff dietary requirements.
  • Manage the kitchen environment, including ordering food deliveries and maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
  • Work collaboratively with the catering team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of patients and staff, while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Proven cooking skills and experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and staff.
  • Food hygiene certification and willingness to undertake further training.
  • Knowledge of health and safety and infection control procedures.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
