Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health and Safety Officer to join our team at Spire Southampton Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the hospital's working practices are established to provide a safe and healthy environment for employees, contractors, and volunteers.

The ideal candidate will have a good standard of secondary education, a strong understanding of Health and Safety and risk issues, and experience working in the healthcare industry or a similar customer-oriented organisation.

Key Responsibilities

The Health and Safety Officer will be responsible for:

  1. Providing support and guidance to line managers to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
  2. Advising the Hospital Director and Senior Management Team on health and safety matters and assisting with risk assessments.
  3. Monitoring the quarterly AMAT health and safety audits to ensure compliance.
  4. Collaborating with the Hospital Director and Senior Management Team to implement health and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A good standard of secondary education.
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry or a similar customer-oriented organisation.
  • A strong understanding of Health and Safety and risk issues.
  • Competent user of the MS Office suite of products.
