The Role

">

We are currently seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Reporting Team in the Audit Quality Directorate. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team, shaping the role and expanding team. You will work closely with Managers, Directors, and Partners within both the Audit Quality Directorate and the audit stream to maintain and encourage an open and constructive environment.

You will have experience of working within the technical department of another major firm of accountants or an experienced auditor looking to move into a technical role. Your strong technical aptitude and knowledge of IFRSs, UK GAAP, and the Companies Act will enable you to provide clear and practical solutions to technical financial reporting queries.

Key Responsibilities

As a Technical Accounting Manager, you will:

  1. ">
  2. Provide technical review of annual reports of publicly traded and other higher risk companies, working with the audit team to confirm compliance with financial reporting standards, company legislation, and regulatory requirements.">
  3. Prepare and present financial reporting training, updates, and seminars both internally and externally.">
  4. Help develop financial reporting tools and guidance for application by the firm's partners and staff.">
  5. Write articles and other publications on financial reporting matters for internal and external communications.">

Requirements

">

To be successful in this role, you will need:

">
  1. ">
  2. ACA/ICAS qualified or equivalent.">
  3. Manager or Senior Manager experience in a technical team or have other relevant experience in technical financial reporting.">
  4. Specific skills in/experience of insurance or asset management would be an advantage.">
  5. Practical experience of performing technical reviews of annual reports of listed companies.">
  6. A strong working knowledge of IFRSs, UK GAAP, and the Companies Act.">
  7. The content requirements for the annual report of a company listed on either the Main Market or the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.">
  8. The wider financial reporting environment, including future developments in law, regulation, and emerging areas.">
