About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oncology Nurse to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our ward, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients with various types of cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage acutely unwell patients and provide specialist oncological nursing interventions.
  • Recognise deterioration in patients' condition at an early stage and take appropriate action.
  • Provide palliative and end-of-life care, ensuring the comfort and dignity of our patients.
  • Liaise with the multidisciplinary team and act as a patient advocate.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals.
  • Work collaboratively as a team player to achieve high standards of patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with current guidance and implement evidence-based practice.
Requirements
  • Nursing degree or diploma with NMC registration.
  • Experience or interest in caring for oncology/palliative care patients.
  • Altered airway experience and administration of chemotherapy (IV).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Basic computer literacy and understanding of evidence-based practice.
  • Clinical skills including venepuncture, cannulation, and IV administration.
