Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Validation Officer Land Systems to join their team at the Defence School of Electronic and Mechanical Engineering (DSEME). As a key member of the Exam Centre and Internal Validation (EC&IV) Department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and validity of assessments for Defence and RAF technical training courses.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing and setting effective test and assessment methods for REME land engineering systems and RAF technical training courses
  • Ensuring test and assessment materials are up-to-date and relevant to training objectives
  • Liaising with DSEME Course Design Team staff and Training Subject Matter Experts to develop and maintain assessment strategies and specifications
  • Conducting internal validation activities to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of training delivery
  • Monitoring and analysing feedback from trainees and trainers to identify areas for improvement
  • Conducting internal quality assurance activities to ensure consistent and reliable judgements are made across the school
  • Operating within required qualification frameworks to deliver regulated qualifications

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Technical, organisational, communicative, creative skills and abilities
  • Adeptness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written communication, phone, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential material and sensitive information in a professional manner

Qualifications

A recognised apprenticeship, attaining a minimum Level 3 qualification in an engineering subject relevant to this position, or relevant alternative period of working in an electronic or mechanical environment.

Working Arrangements

This role is based at MOD Lyneham, Wiltshire, and requires a minimum of 60% attendance in the office. Requirements to attend other locations for official business may also apply.
