About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Mindful Chef. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards and accreditations from the best in class produce supply chain.

You will be responsible for negotiating the best commercial agreements with suppliers of fresh ingredients, which are delivered to thousands of homes across the UK each week. Your goal will be to source the best possible ingredients at the best price, working closely with our Technical, Operations, Kitchen, and Brand teams.

You will also be responsible for driving gross margin improvements and significant economies of scale in overhead cost lines, always weighing up cost, quality, brand, and customer experience when deciding what's best for Mindful Chef.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the highest standards and accreditations from the best in class produce supply chain.
  • Negotiate the best commercial agreements with suppliers of fresh ingredients.
  • Sourcing the best possible ingredients at the best price.
  • Driving gross margin improvements and significant economies of scale in overhead cost lines.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Procurement experience, preferably in the food industry.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to deliver results with quality.
  • Research skills, with a desire to deeply understand and map supply chains to interrogate cost structures and quality to release value.
  • Customer-oriented, with a healthy obsession with quality for the end customer.
  • Team-player, with collaboration skills supported by emotional intelligence.
  • Technical skills, with a good working understanding of food safety regulations.
  • Solution-oriented, with a positive and proactive problem-solver.
