Job Title: Senior Construction Manager

As a Senior Construction Manager at Mace, you will be responsible for leading the construction delivery of MEP services on projects, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality outcomes. Your role will involve managing teams of Construction employees, developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and driving compliance with Mace standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the construction of MEP services, ensuring compliance with Mace standards and project requirements.
  • Manage the site environment, program, health, safety, and wellbeing, quality, and commissioning of the project.
  • Liaise and coordinate with key project stakeholders, forming strong working relationships with clients, consultants, trade contractors, and other team leaders.
  • Deploy project strategic plans in conjunction with the Mace operating framework and strategic priorities.
  • Review the program with trade specialists, checking for productivity, key issues, and trade-to-trade coordination.
  • Manage the Quality Assurance process, ensuring high installation quality and adherence to agreed processes.
  • Prepare and implement delivery strategies and programs for all project phases, considering key milestones, interfaces, dependencies, logistics, and work sequencing.
  • Implement commissioning strategies in line with Mace Commissioning standards, including IST approach, ATPs, and Soft Landings.
  • Undertake productivity assessments using digital technologies to ensure the project is on schedule.
  • Manage project close-out, ensuring all elements of completion are delivered to a high standard.
  • Proactively identify risks and produce mitigation plans.
  • Review issues to drive continuous improvement and provide lessons learned through the knowledge share process.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Life Science projects and delivering CL2/CL3 facilities.
  • Drives high standards and ensures consistency in our approach.
  • Effective stakeholder management.
  • Strong presentation skills, presenting clearly and confidently with the audience in mind.
  • Good communication skills, written, oral, and listening.
  • Innovative and adaptable, not fazed by challenges and open to new ways of working.
  • Strong analytical skills, numeric, statistical, and written detail.
  • Collaborative and inclusive, harnessing the power of the collective for impact/progress.
Qualifications:
  • Trade/Technical Engineering apprenticeship or Graduate development program (or equivalent).
  • Formal Engineering or Construction training (HNC, HND, BTEC, or equivalent).
  • SMSTS and CSCS card.
  • City & Guilds 2382-22 18th Edition.
  • Electrical safe isolation and lock out tag out.
  • First aid at work.
