Job Description

GSL Education is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to work with students with special educational needs in schools.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating inclusive and supportive learning environments, promoting the well-being and academic success of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs and mental health concerns.
  • Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement strategies outlined in education, health, and care plans.
  • Offer emotional support to students with mental health needs, helping them manage emotions, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.
  • Provide immediate support and assistance in situations where students experience mental health crises or emotional distress.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a Secondary SEN school educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioural challenge.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.
