We are seeking a skilled Customs Clearance Specialist to play a pivotal role in facilitating the smooth movement of cargo through UK ports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Completing and inputting customs entries via EDI systems for cargo at UK ports.
  • Ensuring accurate documentation is submitted within designated time frames.
  • Notifying customers promptly upon entry completion, confirming costs, especially regarding Schenker DAN.
  • Identifying and addressing document problems causing customs clearance delays, including potential demurrage costs.
  • Handling Duty and VAT invoices, ensuring compliance with cost control measures.
  • Fulfilling any other duties reasonably requested by your Manager.

Requirements

About You

  • Experience in customs clearance and familiarity with the air industry preferred.
  • Proficiency in basic home-use customs clearance procedures.
  • Strong customer service aptitude.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, adept at prioritization and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • High energy levels, sound judgment, and a determined mindset with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
