Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist to join our Acute Medical team at South Tyneside and Sunderland Hospitals. The successful candidate will work alongside our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality physiotherapy services to patients with a variety of conditions and pathologies.


 


Main Responsibilities



  • Deliver specialist physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, and treatment to an independently managed caseload.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based patient-centred principles to facilitate hospital discharge and rehabilitation.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Supervise and coach physiotherapists, students, and support staff within the service.
  • Participate in research, service development, and quality improvement activities.

 


Requirements



  • BSc Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC State Registration.
  • Continuing Professional Development diary.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Evidence of post-graduate competence in medicine/surgery.

 


Desirable Qualities



  • An understanding of the South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust.
  • Comprehensive experience in medicine/surgery at undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
  • Post-graduate experience in medicine/surgery.
