Job Summary

At Leonardo, we're seeking an ambitious Electronic Design Engineer to join our Communications and Force Protection Team. This exciting opportunity will enable you to develop and grow your skills and knowledge within a thriving organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting electronic countermeasures programmes, you will undertake various activities including electronic design analysis, circuit simulation, prototyping, and testing.
  • You will also be responsible for schematic capture, PCB layout, power supply, and interface card design, as well as development of subsystem engineering solutions and specifications.
  • Furthermore, you will define electronic COTS products, specify cabling and connectors, and integrate and verify system and subsystems.
  • You will also provide support to qualification, including EMC, and production and delivery.

Requirements

  • You must have knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle, including digital and analogue electronic design.
  • Additionally, you should have experience of board-level PCB design, operating at the product system level, specifying and defining COTS items, working with subcontract suppliers, and specifying cable and connector solutions.
  • System-level integration and the ability to make technical decisions within your sphere of responsibility are also essential.
  • Furthermore, you should be willing to work proactively within a fast-moving and dynamic environment.

Desirable Skills

  • Safety, security, and legislative constraints knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Domain experience in electronics warfare and electronics countermeasures is also desirable.
