About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized IT and Data Quality Manager to join our busy but friendly Practice Team at Old Swan Health Centre Group Practice. The post holder will be responsible for the generation and analysis of clinical and non-clinical information to ensure that the practice meets the quality targets and clinical standards, improves patient care, and maximizes practice income.
Main Responsibilities
- To be the main point of contact for coordinating all IT issues within the Practice.
- To develop and maintain an expert knowledge of the EMIS clinical system and other software suppliers, making recommendations as appropriate.
- In conjunction with the Practice Manager, to establish protocols to ensure the accurate input of data and enable access of information as necessary.
- To build searches and extract data for service improvement, internal and external reporting; QOF data, recalls, appointment analysis, KPI targets, etc.
- To maximize internal systems to ensure robust delivery of services, including the telephone system.
- To be responsible for ensuring that all IT-related standard operating procedures are documented, reviewed appropriately, communicated, and adhered to. To put in place improvement plans to address any non-compliance.
- To develop robust IT business continuity plans.
- To maintain and update the Practice Website and Social Media sites.
- To provide training and support to the Practice staff on the use of information systems, identifying training needs and regular staff updates.
- To lead on ensuring best practice in Information Governance.
- To undertake a range of tasks required or advised under GDPR, ICO, and National Data Security and Protection Toolkit, such as data mapping, reporting data breaches, compliance audits, etc.
- To ensure compliance with the Data Protection Security and Protection Toolkit around Data requirements and develop action plans to address any non-compliance.
- To assist with general office duties, including coding and data inputting of hospital letters and documents.
Person Specification
- Excellent communication skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience of working in General Practice.
