Deputy Manager Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team at YHA Whitby. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the hostel manager in the day-to-day operational management of the hostel and delivering an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the hostel manager in achieving targets across all aspects of the hostel operation, including food and beverage, and maximising revenue while controlling expenditure.
  • Manage a team of employees and occasional volunteers, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Contribute to the team effort in the day-to-day operation of the hostel, undertaking housekeeping, reception, and food and beverage tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous leadership experience and experience managing budgets is desired.
  • Food safety level 2 and APLH level 2 qualifications would be desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, timekeeping, and basic IT skills are essential.
  • Knowledge and understanding of YHA's core purpose and experience of working in a team are beneficial.
