Linux Systems Support Specialist

We are seeking a Linux Systems Support Specialist to join our Support Organisation at Squiz. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux systems administration and troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Resolving technical issues with existing systems
  • Building and installing new infrastructure, servers, and machines
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of key projects
  • Working with the product team to migrate systems to SaaS

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Linux systems administration
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent client-facing communication skills
  • Experience working in major or critical incidents

Preferred skills include:

  • Linux (Fedora/EL flavours of Linux)
  • Web stack (NGINX, PHP, Redis, PostgreSQL)
  • Revision/Configuration Control (SVN, Puppet4, Git/Gitlab)
  • Server Monitoring (Nagios, Grafana, Thousand Eyes)

Location: Edinburgh (with ability to access the office 1-2 times per week)

On-call rota expected.
