Site Manager Job Description

Madisons Recruitment is seeking a skilled Site Manager to oversee projects across the UK, with the first project based in Watford, Hertfordshire. This is a permanent position that requires the ability to travel nationwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify drawings and designs, highlighting inconsistencies to the line manager
  • Inspect and register materials and plant deliveries for compliance, quality, and quantity
  • Monitor and record attendance and timekeeping of subcontractors and operatives
  • Develop and implement RAMS, Inspection Test Plans, and manage their completion, ensuring the client is informed
  • Liaise with clients and report progress, quality, environmental, and health and safety matters, as well as interact with professional staff and the public
  • Attend internal and site meetings, maintaining a professional demeanor
  • Ability to read drawings, work from drawings, and convey information on drawings to others
  • Understand and work to programmes, and produce short-term site-based programmes
  • Order materials, manage sundry items, and maintain running totals records
  • Supervise subcontract trades and general labor to ensure high-quality work, health and safety compliance, and adherence to order requirements
  • Organize and participate in subcontractor meetings, whether pre-start or progress meetings
  • Conduct formal safety inspections to ensure construction and site safety standards are met
  • Prepare site reports, inspections, and test plans, ensuring they are up-to-date
  • Maintain quality control procedures
  • Utilize and maintain company systems, procedures, forms, templates, and policies
  • Motivate yourself and your workforce
  • Problem-solving
  • Assist with internal and external audits
  • Inform the line manager and commercial team of any changes, delays, or requests for additional works or variances to the works
  • Complete site health and safety, quality, and environmental inspections, as well as job-related paperwork
  • Read, understand, convey, and build to only approved drawings and specifications

Essential Requirements:

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Managers card
  • First aid training
  • Full UK Driving license + own transport
