About the Role
Havering Health Ltd is seeking a Clinical Support Officer to join our team in Havering Liberty Primary Care Network. As a Clinical Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing administrative and clinical support to our General Practices, enabling them to focus on patient care.
Main Responsibilities
- Sorting clinical post and prioritizing tasks
- Signposting patients to other healthcare professionals
- Extracting information from clinical letters and adding notes
- Dealing with routine clinical post, including DNA letters and 2WW referrals
- Arranging appointments, referrals, and follow-up appointments
- Preparing patients for GP consultations, taking brief histories, and basic readings
- Dipping urine, taking blood pressure, ECGs, and phlebotomy
- Completing basic forms for GP approval and signing
- Explaining treatment procedures to patients and arranging follow-up appointments
- Supporting GPs with immunisations and wound care
Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to complete forms and maintain accurate records
- Strong organisational skills, including planning, prioritising, and time management
- Understanding of confidentiality and data protection
- Ability to work within limits of competence and seek advice when needed
- Professional and compassionate attitude to patient care
- Ability to remain diplomatic when dealing with sensitive matters
