About the Role

The Safety and Sustainability Advisor will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and sustainability of our operations at Colas Rail UK. This position will be responsible for providing professional advice and guidance on occupational health and safety matters, as well as promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee activities to ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Raise awareness of safety and sustainability among employees and stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on the maintenance of our safety management system and promote best practices.
  • Engage with employees, contractors, and partners to promote a positive safety culture.
  • Monitor and report on safety and sustainability performance, including incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Develop and deliver safety training and briefings to employees.
  • Manage data and reporting on safety and sustainability metrics.
  • Conduct risk assessments and contribute to the development of systems and procedures.
Requirements
  • Strong background in occupational safety management and supporting systems.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment techniques, behavioral based safety, and training development and delivery.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate, Member of an appropriate professional institute, and experience in HS management.
