Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Civil Design Engineer to join our team at Bridges Electrical Engineers. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading the direction of Civil/MEICA projects, developing clarity of the overall project scope, and producing civil and mechanical designs using project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the direction of Civil/MEICA projects, pulling together support and deliverables from the wider design team.
  • Producing civil and mechanical designs using project specifications, standard requirements, outline scopes of work, and/or site investigations.
  • Innovate, challenge, and consider continuous improvement across projects and designs.
  • Specification of technical plant and/or machinery to allow less technical procurement members of the company to progress the ordering.
  • Ensuring additional works are captured, requiring liaison with project managers and commercial teams to review the impact to programme and assisting with raising compensation events.
  • Attending site, both during and after project, to support in any technical issues and close out information.
  • Producing and carrying out technical presentations during client visits to highlight the capabilities of the department.

Requirements

  • Relevant engineering qualification such as HNC, HND, Degree (desirable).
  • Experience in site general arrangement design, 2D and/or 3D, design project coordination, civil, mechanical, structural steelwork design, small and large bore pipework systems, chemical dosing, water quality monitoring, pump sizing, and pump system design.
  • Autodesk 2D and/or 3D CAD packages and Microsoft packages.
  • Specific water industry-based design experience.
