Position Overview

The role of Scientific Director requires a deep understanding of neuroscience, neurology, and channelopathies. Within this key leadership position, you will develop and implement the charity's strategic research and scientific engagement plan, ensuring its success in advancing the organisation's mission.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our research and development efforts. This individual will have a Master's or Doctorate degree and at least two years of experience managing scientific projects in academic, industrial, non-profit, or government environments.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the charity's research strategy, ensuring alignment with its mission.
  • Manage a team of scientists and researchers, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Cultivate partnerships with leading institutions and experts in the field of neuroscience and neurology.
  • Pursue funding opportunities from grants and other sources to support research initiatives.
  • Communicate research findings and outcomes to stakeholders, including patients, clinicians, and the general public.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctorate degree in a relevant field (e.g., neuroscience, neurology, molecular biology).
  • At least two years of experience managing scientific projects in academic, industrial, non-profit, or government environments.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a dynamic workload.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in presenting complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment, with strong collaboration and teamwork skills.

Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary (£65,000 - £85,000) and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
