Job Summary:

The Chief Scientific Officer will play a crucial role in shaping our company's scientific direction. This position requires close collaboration with senior leadership to align scientific initiatives with business objectives and technical innovations.

You will translate complex scientific concepts into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable, efficient, and sustainable processes to reclaim high-quality active materials from lithium-ion batteries.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of advanced testing and analytical methods to ensure quality and performance at every stage.
  • Pioneer scientific testing and validation efforts for active materials using advanced analytical techniques.
  • Design and execute electrochemical testing protocols for battery materials, such as cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
  • Direct the development of recovery processes for active materials, ensuring they meet quality, cost, and sustainability targets suitable for large-scale manufacturing.
  • Establish and maintain rigorous production quality control measures, ensuring all materials adhere to established quality standards.
  • Evaluate and implement batch testing protocols to verify consistency, performance, and safety, driving improvements in manufacturing processes as needed.
  • Ensure all processes and materials comply with safety, environmental, and industry regulations, maintaining strict adherence to evolving standards.
  • Support the company's fundraising efforts and identify funding opportunities to support research and development initiatives.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum based on location and experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on lithium-ion batteries and recycling.
  • Strong background in designing and implementing scientific testing methods, including Raman spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM).
  • Extensive experience scaling up chemical recovery processes for mass production, with a commitment to green chemistry and sustainable manufacturing.
