Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Superintendent to join our team at Valaris. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of our offshore rigs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Rig Managers to implement and maintain safety programs, conduct safety inspections, and investigate accidents.
  • Develop and implement personal development plans for Rig Managers, including completion of formal leadership development programs.
  • Assist Rig Managers in reviewing and monitoring rig operating costs, reducing personnel attrition, and improving operational effectiveness.
  • Participate in on-site inspections and audits, and confer with Rig Managers on potential operational problem areas.
  • Assist in coordinating material orders and rig inventory controls, and work with management personnel to develop employee development programs.
  • Provide strong customer support, share coaching and counseling responsibilities with Rig Managers, and participate in technical operations troubleshooting discussions.
  • Assist in capital and operating budget preparation, and stay informed on governmental, union, labor, safety, and environmental rules and regulations that affect rig operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum years of experience in an operations management function in a business of similar size and complexity.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, financial accounting, purchasing, and management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level.
  • Working knowledge of document control systems and databases.
