Job Title: Student Support Worker at HMP Pentonville

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our education team as a Student Support Worker at HMP Pentonville. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting learners to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

The Student Support Worker will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with learners on a day-to-day basis to promote the education provision on offer
  • Conducting initial assessments in English, Maths, and learning difficulties/disabilities to ensure learners have the information to plan their learner journey
  • Providing prospective and existing learners with relevant and easily understood information regarding learning and skills provision and continuing support
  • Contributing to a multi-disciplinary approach that seeks to facilitate a smooth transition to the resettlement of learners into the community
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant experience of conducting initial assessments and supporting learning of individuals and groups
  • Experience of working with groups of learners with a range of abilities
  • Experience of successful working in an effective multi-disciplinary team
  • To hold or be willing to work towards level 2 qualifications in literacy and numeracy within an agreed timescale
